THE BRIEF

We were approached by ASICS Tiger to help promote the launch of their ‘Far Side of the Moon’ collaboration with size?. The exclusive Gel Lyte shoes was inspired by the suits worn by Soviet astronauts on the first ever space expedition to the far side of the moon in 1959.

We were asked to develop a campaign that would launch the new shoes, utilising the size? window spaces throughout Europe. Supporting the instore activity, we were tasked with creating a specially designed shoe packaging, to maximise awareness of the collaboration, and increase engagement on social media.

THE SOLUTION

Taking inspiration from the original Soviet space mission, we created exclusive packaging for the shoes with a vintage space exploration feel – using, clean lines, retro sci-fi shapes and materials. Inside the box, we used premium, aluminium bags to encase commemorative pin badges and patches. The design of the patches drew inspiration from the shape of those worn by the Soviet astronauts on their space mission.

The colourways used throughout the campaign, from the shoes, packaging and the window displays, referenced the accents and shadows created by the orbiting moon. This ensured a consistent customer journey at every point of the experience.

The campaign was launched with 30 exclusive seeding boxes sent to selected influencers and 5 key size? stores across the UK and Europe. We carried the concept through to the size? retail windows, creating a bespoke display to highlight the exclusive, collaboration shoes. The displays emulated astronauts and space pods by incorporating acrylic domes, mirri board and blinking LED lights. The display was focused with an image of the far side of the moon to isolate the shoes on display.

From concept through to installation we helped ASICS Tiger bring to life their ‘out of this world’ collaboration with size? designing, producing and installing each piece of in-store promotion.
