Vans’ collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld brought together two retail powerhouses for a limited-edition range of clothing and footwear. To launch the campaign in store, Vans asked us to create bespoke window displays to give maximum impact and showcase the collaboration range. Monochrome was the focus of the entire campaign, influenced by Karl Lagerfeld’s signature style.

Taking inspiration from the Vans x Karl Lagerfeld collaboration and Vans’ designs we produced and installed in Vans retail stores across London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen and Gothenburg. We also installed in De Bijenkorf, a premium department store in Amsterdam.  



In London, we created bespoke display windows for Vans Camden and Vans Carnaby Street using gloss acrylic boxes and panels to manifest the monochrome theme of the design. We included a large, double sided lightbox complimented by window vinyls, which added depth to the display from every angle. We produced the displays as hanging windows to highlight the connection between Vans classic checkerboard print and Karl Lagerfeld’s signature monochrome colourway.

To increase awareness of the collaboration range, point of purchase items were designed and created for stores across the UK. The premium designs all centred on the collaboration logo to ensure consistency, but used different acrylic finishes to reflect the individuality of the stores. We also created a black lacquered melamine plinth with a mirror acrylic logo, using step risers to showcase the various designs of the shoes.
